The Wedding of Ingrid and Larry

Hey Folks!

Well, i sure did manage to go to the wedding of Larry and Inky!!! YEAH!!! And it was the most awesome thing, you know? I went to the Anastasis on Friday night (August the 18th). Can you believe it? THE ANASTASIS!! I saw the ship! OUR SHIP!!! That was sooo coool, what a nice start :-). That night i didn't sleep much... somehow the clock reaches 3 am, 4 am... and i'm walking around the ship, breathing it in... aaahhhh. Eventually, i do get some minutes of sleep but rise again to see Ginger Cash leave... Wow... say hello, say good-bye. Tough, this is. Can't digest any more emotions, so everything just flyes by me and i'm just happy to see everybody....

Eddie and Carolyn are our drivers and we (that is: Eddie, Carolyn, Barbara, Marta, a woman from what once was Grafted, Charles and me) head towards Holland. Another car follows us with more Anastasis guests. Somehow (we had some great drivers!) we get to Holland (kinda hard to miss a country!), to Assen (a bit more of a challenge to find a specific city) and even the church (incredible navigation here)... We have arrived. Let me repeat: WE HAVE ARRIVED AT THE VERY SITE WHERE IN SHORT THERE'S GONNA BE A WEDDING! But wait! Step by step, right? So guess who we meet there? Katanya, Phil, Daniel (click for larger version)

DTS people, yes! No small small, this is plenty, here they go: Charles Spurgeon, Andrew Mitchell, Marta Siczek, Eddie and Carolyn Tonna, Beth Kern, Doerte Boettger, Barbara Tietz, Daniel Snell, Esther DeBlouw, Andrew Elliot, Katanya Kolstoe, Jon Syrbe, Esther Baumann and, quite surprisingly, Larry and Ingrid. Add myself to that list and you get a whooping 17 (seventeen!) Oct 98 DTSers!!! Rubb that up your nose and say: "I should have been there!". Yeah, that's right, you should have! Well, lets get on with business, hehe. Ceremony was in some strange language, i'd say botswanisch or whatever they speak in the Netherlands :-). Luckily, there's a translator... Hmm... at some point this beautiful, glowing, happy, smiling, sparkling woman all in white came in. What can i say? Radiant! The bride enters (click for larger version)

Yes, radiant she was... so much so that it reflected on our faces and you didn't even need a flash to take a picture of her! Wow! (Between you and me: i think Larry had to be told to have just a little more patience...) The sermon was nice, taken out of 2. Moses, i believe, about the Arch of the Covenant and applying everything that was in it to the covenant of marriage. Quite fitting and very beautiful. Then the pastor asked some very long questions which both Ingrid and Loreto answered affirmatively... the crowd cheered! Ingrid puts the ring on! (click for larger version)

And you will not believe what happened next... Loreto took the chair he was sitting on, placed it in front of his WIFE, jumped up and... gave her a looong kiss!! Believe me, it is true! Standing on the chair... the crowd cheered even louder!! :-) Hey, so it is now Larry and Ingrid MAZZOLA!! Hehe... After that the newly pronounced husband and wife dissapeared and us folks had some time to talk and share and hear from each other. Larry kisses his wife (click for larger version)

(Ok, i'm gonna make this short now else this report will become too long) Oh yeah, so the wedding ceremony started at 13:00 (that's 1 pm for you americans :-D) and then we went to a reception in a restaurant (?) with bowling facilities at around 16:00 (4 pm). Is that correct? Well, close, anyways. Andi Elliot is bowling (click for larger version)

We had cake and tea and coffe and bowling and talking and singing and listening and picture taking and laughing and congratulating (?) and just being overwhelmed and happy. Time went by so fast that, it seems, not much later, we actually had to say good-bye again! Now why didn't we pray for the sun to stand still and make that day loooooong? ... Ah, we didn't think of it... But guys, this day was worth gold... a big bucket full :-). So that was that... A little song for the couple (click for larger version)

** Additional info** : Larry and Ingrid moved to Canada in September, not sure *when* exactly. My camera had some major problems coping with the dried peach juice that i poured over it in Paris... i lost plenty of pictures, so please send me one or two of your pictures (especially the big group picture we did at the bowling place). I will gladly put them right here on the homepage. Speaking of homepage, ride on the wave while it's fresh and send me something (newsletter, short note, pictures, tapes, cookies... hehe). Any feedback is also very much appreciated.

I'm checking off, let me hear from you!

In love,

jan(i)
