Sailing from South Africa to Gambia, Jan 18th, 2000

Hello everybody!

The short story of what has happened to me after the dts.

Gone back to where I've met you all, with those that became my new family. I've got to know them in a new way, with more stinking and sweety hugs working so close in the hotest place on the ship after the engine room, cleaning 400 plates and more than a tousand other dishes after three times a day!

Broken heart not of anything selfish but because of those that cannot stand for themselves, the understanding of what God feels looking at his favourite people dieing, the most important children suffering! Be part of their pain, not only have a compassion, seeing not only myself as of the most value but that guy without hands, having a hat on his knees, screaming at me for not giving him money, saying "I don't need a smile from you white, I need your money stupid!" Without understanding going for the little trip to see South Africa when leaving that guy behind in that country, only with the smile......never understanding His strange plans....

Looking at the most beautiful town on the continent of Africa from that mountain that looks like a table when you look over from the Water front Shopping mall (also the most beautiful on the continent of Africa...). Here the ship was situated just a week ago to celebrate the new millenium. So it happens that I am here again, on the white ship. After 4 months of preparation in Poland... making a CD to raise some support cause the church is not supporting even with the prayers... Recording another CD on the ship with the team called Grafted (Outrech band) to which I comitted for this year... learning how to be... not to do... how to worship not play, sing... not trying to be better but finding who I am... Who is that person that God has created... what has he put inside?... to be real... not to use methods, but to listen to His voice... In three days the ship will come to Gambia... Should we use our experience, do as much as we can? Pray... and ask what has to be done... maybe just a smile maybe just hello... maybe days without food to fast for those that live a life as a fast...

the Jan part ------------ ;-)

Oh, forgive me all, i shall attempt a quick run-through her post-DTS life, for i do not think editing her own production would have done it justice (despite the request). She stayed onboard after DTS and sailed with a few other ol'october DTSers down to South Africa. She wasn't able to do the whole South African Trip with us, as you may remember from other Newsletters. But the last bit of the journey we enjoyed her presence ;-). After a blasting, emotionally loaden good-bye in Europe, we all went home. So did she, what a surprise! "Lotsa things in little time" defines this period. She went to a Christian Evangelization Camp, had her band onstage a couple of times at different events, did councelling work and recorded a worship CD. (Complained about lack of time and being under stress. But i think she is not all too far from liking it, after all. Just my little spice here). Hmm... didn't come to the Swiss DTS reunion... Back on the Anastasis, she's been working in Grafted (the new "Lazarus", huh?) Ah... whatever, it's all very clear as it is written.

PS.: Wait, one more thing! Her brother and his fiancee will be onboard for the April DTS. Don't know about the effects of too many polacks on the Anastasis.... ;-)

Brothers and sisters in the Lord, take courage!
Computers aren't that bad and typing a newsletter
is a possible task! And again i say: Take courage!
Eat good food, spiritually and physically speaking.
Let me hear your voice, let us stay in touch!

Gimme a "J", gimme an "E", gimme an "S" gimme a "U", gimme an "S"! What do we get?? JESUS!!! Yeah :-)

In His love,
jan <= Is not this guy funny ? (olivier comments)

PS.: Would you be so nice and, whenever your email changes, keep the Webmaster aware? You're so great! :-) <= O Yeah !!! (Olivier comments again)
