Dear friends,
Arise, shine, for your ligth has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appear over you. Nations will come to your light and kings to the brightness of your dawn. ( Isaiah 60:1-3 )
This verses are spoken primarily to the Chosen People the Jews, but it is now also valid for all who love Christ and belong to HIM. Our dark world needs you and me. Here we are asked for arising and shining. What a big responsibility, but stop, it is the Lord who shines and brings the brightness. I just have to be his tool and do his will.Yes, this is what I’m learning and practising and within this I realized how mercyfull and patient my Father in Heaven is.
After some time of getting used to all the different swiss traditions ( or most of them) I feel now quite accustomed to life in Switzerland. As you know I have lived till DTS in Austria and moved now to Switzerland and share a flat with Irene and another girl Anita. It has been a good time till now and I especially like our prayer, intercession times, or singing together or just having fun.
My working place is only 5 minutes away from my home and it was totally God who brought me there and gave me this job as nurse on a medical ward. Again and again God gives me opportunities to talk to people about Jesus. Most time to old persones or sometimes to diing patients. I don’t know about the fruits of that, but it fills me with joy to give out the good message, to be light. I did work before DTS in hospitals too, but did not experienced that kind of freedom. I thank God for everything and give him the Glory. For quite some time I had the vision to start a prayergroup in the hospital and this started now with a small group. My prayer is that it will continue and grow.
Besides my job I support a local Christian ministry with practical work, most times once a week. A group of dedicated women are running a guest house for about 70 people and offer seminars and refreshing weeks. Or I’m enjoing the wonderful swiss mountains in summer with hiking and now in winter time with skiing. Or I help out Irene in her children work in church. Or I’m learning French - what a difficult language! At the beginning of my stay in Switzerland I had problems in filling up my freetime usefully, but this is solved now.
Maybe my time to stay in Switzerland will last only for a few more month and than I leave it again. I have applyed for a Birth Attandent School in Australia to get trained as midwife for developing countries, a school of YWAM. It would last a year and will start in July 2000. I’m excited about God’s plan and waiting now to get final report from there. My vision is to serve God in a needy country.- I don’t know yet where, but HE is faithful and will show it step by step , as I have experienced it before.
In these Christmas days I often think back to what was going on a year before. How we celebrated in Afrika and what we all went through. Good "old" time.
I like it so much to read your news or get emails, so I brought myself to write down my news. I whish you God’s leading and guidance throughout this year. HE is faithful and good.
Dn Christ’s love.
