June 2001

hi

Sorry you haven't heard much in the last couple of weeks. Hre's a quick update since I last wrote.

We went top a village called mvomero which is out in the bush. Not too small a village but it was nice, especailly all the interesting insects .The girls room had one bug which apparantly looked a litttle like a black flying crab. Anyhow we were doing lots of door to door evangelism (I mean hut to hut). As well as doing teachings in a local church everyday, this was for a week and we got to see God impact the people of the village.

The week after we went to Dar es Salaam for four days for a short break, it was nice to be able to go a relax by a pool and to have a break, it was also interesting to see a different part of Tanzania and go to a big city, Dar was alot more westernised than Morogoro, it was a bit of a culture shock being in fast food restaurants with AC.

After our break we were back to the base, we also had our pastoral visitor (Isobel) one of our leaders in DTS from the base out to see how we are all doing. She was with us on our break and for a few days at the base.

Our schedule has been much the same as usual since being back. This past week I got to preach my forst ever sermon which seemed to surprise some of the people after the service, I spoke on Maturity in Christ and going deeper in your relationship with Him, I think it went well, but it can be hard to tell sometimes.

Yesterday we went on a Safari for part of the day, sadly we didn't see any Lions despite our 5:30am leaving the base, but we did see lots of other amazing animals.

We now have just a couple more weeks before we return to England for debrief so the time is running by quite quickly now.

Take care
Daniel
