Hey y'all !
Finally I write again some news from my life here in Kassel when I'm with my parents and "old" friends and my other part in Marburg when I study and get to know more people there and find new friends. It's an exciting thing to jump between two in some parts very different lives but it's also very exhausting and I felt more and more splitted between these two different groups of friends. Every time when I got home, it felt like re-entry... and that all the time-last year, it meant every week, this year I started to stay in Marburg at least for a few weekends. Okay, that sounds like I'm quite frustrated and I actually was sometimes.
Especially here with my old friends I felt awkward and somehow displaced when I went to our youth group, where a few changes went on ( we got some new teenies and that doubled the group- so it's now totally different there). Well, now my first semester is over and i do have real vacations- I enjoy it : ) - and I spend some time here in Kassel, where I see some people more often then the last months and it's helping a lot to "settle" for a short time.
Studying education- I think- is really the right thing and I like it a lot. Sometimes I just dream of different possibilities what I do afterwards. THere're so much opportunities, but actually I have no clue what I'm gonna start. Okay, it's not necessary to know it now and God will show me the place He wants me !
In summer I should do some practical work that has to do with education and I decided to go to two summer camps with the SMD ( Schueler/Studenten Mission Deutschland Student Mission Germany) for young people between the age of 15/16 to 19/20. So they won't be much younger and I'm totally excited about it. I know there will be quite a lot of challenges because I never did something like that before but it's good to finally give to others what I learned in DTS. One will lead me to Meigle in Scotland near Perth and the other one to Norway. It's funny: I was in summer 96 on a summer camp with the same organisation exactly at the same house in Scotland and I love to go there again. It's such a beautiful, old house with big rooms, pianos and a library .
I haven't really told you what I did in the days around New Year's Eve, have I ? I spend almost 4 days in Karlsruhe where a big Revival Worship Event was with some well known people like Peter Helms and his band, Brian Doerksen, Andy Park... and Doerte, Esther Faessler and Barbara. It was great to meet them there and talk and enjoy the meeting. After that it was hard to be home again. I could have worshiped for all eternity...but for that I have to wait a bit I guess.
The last weekend I went to a one-day-conference with some of my friends and it was about healing and the other part about Israel. It was so good. In the night there was a service about 4 hours -african service-length : ) - and it became again clear for me that it's so important to pray for our government. By the way : Anybody heard of what's going on in Uganda? THere the first lady prayed for the youth and told the minister for finances to do the same. And through prayer they reduced the AIDS- rate from around 27% to 15% !!!!!!!! WOW!
I get every week a so called Friday fax- good news from everywhere around the world about what happens in the kingdom of God. It's so good to read all that encouraging stories. I think it should be available also in English.
Today, the 16th, I became an aunt !!!!!!!! My eldest sister was pregnant again ( after the first child died while born) and now I have a little nephew- Tobias. Tomorrow we gonna visit my sister, her husband and the baby. I'm so excited.
So guys, I would love to hear from all of you, what you do, what happens in your lives...
God bless you, everybody so richly.
Save in His arms, Ulli
